We are proud to announce the opening of the first Yoga School in the Ecuadorian Amazon! The Wisdomforest School of Yoga offers drop in classes morning and evenings as well as weekend yoga adventure outings, organise workshops and run teacher training programs throughout the year.
50% of our net profit from all classes goes directly to the Wisdomforest Permaculture Rainforest Reserve foundation, helping communities reforest, harvesting fruit and protecting the Amazon.
With a pinch of Bhakti in our teachings we believe that the essence of a yoga class is to reconnect with your inner self and the universe we live in. Take a break from the restless mind and its constant demands. Heal your body through postures and pranayama (breathing exercises which clear the physical and emotional obstacles in our body), and enjoy a deep guided meditation at the end of each class.
Bhagavatamrita Das (Bhaga for short), comes from a family of teachers and has a natural gift for sharing his knowledge. After 12 years of intense SEVA (Voluntary Service) managing two distinct Yoga Ashrams, his desire is to now share his extensive yoga expertise in the Amazon rainforest. He delivers fun emotive classes for all levels, offering great tips for alignment on and off the mat. Working with students from all nationalities and walks of life, he is eager to spark everybody´s spiritual flame. Every class ends in beautiful mantras that will accompany you for days to come.
Bhaga took initation in the path of Bhakti Yoga from his master Bhakti Aloka Paramadvaiti Maharaj and has since been devoted to helping him in his service to Srila Prabhupada. In recent years, his ashtanga vinyasa yoga teachers Chaitanya Nitay and Samantha Miller, from the Yoga Inbound International School of yoga have shared with him their Asthanga Yoga Inbound style, which reflects the strength and discipline of Asthanga Vinyasa Yoga and the spontaneity and creativity in the yoga asanas of the Mixed Levels of Larry Schultz.
As part of the clases, Bhaga also gives advice on Ayurvedic health (a traditional Eastern Health System) that will change your life.
